Such a little thing.

The other day I was slicing cabbage with a mandolin slicer thing that is protected by plastic and really freaking old. For the first time ever, I was fast slicing and cut into my thumb. I was annoyed but thought it would just be a little cut.

The blood rushed out so I found a bandaid and carried on making the recipe. After my lunch I got back to work and right away realized that my band aid covered right thumb was going to get into my way.

It’s such a small thing. Having a bandaid on my thumb. My thumb was fine. It didn’t hurt, but it did continue to bleed, so I needed the bandaid. And that little piece of cloth made it harder to type on both my computer and my phone. But, especially my phone.

I am right handed, so I immediately default to using my right thumb to holding the record button for social media recording, and scrolling. Even though, I could easily just use another finger or my left hand, having this slight inconvenience had me reconsider a lot of things.
