I really love closing tabs.
I don’t know how many separate windows and tabs I have had open on my computer all week (or more). I often like to keep them open. I have them sectioned off. A window for personal things, with several tabs open. A window with opportunities in several tabs. A window the several different of my own google docs open, each with a different project or idea.
Lots of windows, lots of tabs. Organized and yet so many things open.
I just went about closing tabs and damn does it feel good. I wasn’t even thinking about it being a Friday, so it wasn’t an end of week close it all down session. I just felt like, okay, it’s time to close some things up, button it up, let go, complete, move on, etc.
Some of the tabs were to online retailers that I had linked from newsletters or ads directed at me. Some, I had even put some items in the cart. Some I had just opened and scrolled a bit. Am I really going to buy anything? Today? Am I so in love with these items and feel that I must buy them now? Nope. Close tab. Close tab. Close tab.
Some of the tabs open were things I had worked on, started, were almost completed, but for some reason hadn’t brought myself to be done with. Let’s get to it. Do the final thing, hit send, button it up, close it up. Close tab. Close tab. Close tab.
Some of the tabs are for platforms like this that I use on a regular basis. Am I using that platform today? Is there something I want to do on it by end of today? Do it or don’t and then…close tab. Close tab. Close tab.
And there are other tabs. Things I was researching it. Random things I really didn’t need open any more but had just gotten lost in the open tabs. Close tab. Close tab. Close tab.
This excitement I started to feel from closing digital tabs on my laptop got me thinking about other tabs in my life that I have closed, am ready to close, and more.
