—Stay tuned for the juicer stuff at the end.-

This week I was invited to and actually attended a lovely event hosted by one of my favorite face oil brands Biography and Laura Rubin AKA Allswell. (She also has a Substack.)

I have somewhat fallen off the face of the earth in the last or 6 months and I am enjoying that. I have been invited to other things but haven’t attended. I am barely sharing outwardly (this is really the only spot). Social media and my podcast have been halted. These are all choices I have made and continue to make without much forethought, but with some lingering curiosities. And then one day it just happened, and slowly (or was it quickly) more things followed suit.

Anyways, I said yes and I am so glad that I did.

Laura’s thing is journaling. She makes and sells journals, she made and sells a journaling prompt deck (it’s so good). She leads journaling workshops, retreats, etc. for everyone from corporations to surf retreats. She was recently featured in the New York Times - for journaling!

I freaking love that she took something she loves and that has supported her in many ways and ended up making this vibrant, inspiring, work for herself. Which, I don’t think that was her intention when she started sharing about journaling - it was a passion project. I met Laura right before the pandemic when I was speaking at a Travel With Meaning event. I remember talking to her about creating a deck, something she wanted to do AND has since done!

So, you can see why it was very cool and full circle to be attending an event she was leading this week. AND damn, is she good.

She had created about 20 journaling prompts for us to sync with Biography, as if we were writing our own Biography.
